LINCOLN SQUARE
Lincoln Square is a quaint, fairly small community on Chicago’s north side. Tucked between Ravenswood and Albany Park, it takes up only two and a half square miles and is just east of the Chicago River. This neighborhood has a strong German history, which is still evident today: several German brew houses dot the area, Lutz’s Café & Bakery is a Chicago favorite, Merz Apothecary is a unique shop located in the square, and the DANK Haus German American Cultural Center sits near the Western and Lawrence intersection. Though the area is well known for its German heritage, in recent years it has developed a thriving multicultural presence that offers an excellent variety of delicious, hip restaurants, music, and art. Lincoln Square is a great neighborhood for young professionals as well as families; it is convenient urban living within a strong sense of community.
